Mr. Grainger did look funny in that toupee, but it was Lucas' reaction that blew me away.

o.k here's another one of those 'almost laughing'.
Mrs. Slocomb on the water bed...i think the episode is called "is it catching"...Mrs. Slocomb is saying:"even when im watching Triangle(?)[this is where she almost starts laughing]...I have to take sea-sick pills..." Im assuming Triangle is some sort of a T.V show... the other moment that i remember ... the ending credits of "a new look"...When Mr. grace grabs Mr. Rumbold's secretary and takes her away...the expression on her face always made me think that that was not in the script... |

Triangle was actually a soap opera set onboard a cross channel ferry between Felixstowe uk, Gothenburg and Amsterdam. The actress Kate O Mara had to try and make the whole thing look glamorous. In the recent TV Hell programme it was voted worst flop in recent times. It featured lots of long shots of open sea that would make anyone sick...as did the story lines!!!!!

My favourite bloopers fo pointing out to people watching with me are:
In the epsiode "The erotic dreams of Mrs S" ( I think) in the long scene with Mrs Slocombe and Mr Humphries talking face to face, You can suddenly hear the studio bell ring very briefly. This bell is like the fire bell in "fire practice" Also in "Do you take this man" As Mrs Slocombe appears through the fitting room door in a wedding dress, you can see a hand come out and straighten the train.........obviously a stage hand or dresser. |

You guys are all good at spotting some bloopers. The one that I will really look out for was the one that Greg mentioned, with Mr.Granger sitting in the Ladies Dept. during the opening credits.

In "Oh, What A Tangled Web" when Capt. Peacock is talking to his wife on the phone, there is some sort of a popping sound.
In "A Change Is As Good As A Rest" when Mr. Lucas says "Oh, Mrs. Slocombe will come in to her own then, will she....", the reflection of a boom mic can be seen on the table. In the pilot episode when Mr. Grainger is admonishing Mr. Lucas about the naked display model, just as he's saying "Well it's hardly sufficient", the camera goes out of focus briefly. In "Cold Comfort" when Mr. Humphries puts the hair dryer up his trouser leg, in the background, Mr. Grainger knocks over that sign next to the cash register [Anyone know what that sign says? My TV has a terrible picture] |

I just saw that blooper in "Cold Comfort"! I have seen that episode many times, but I have never seen that before, which is unusual for me.

No, you didn't miss it. I have it on tape, along with every other episode (except for "Coffee Morning", "New Look", "Christmas Crackers", "Fire Practice", and "Roots".)

Actually I have closed captioning and I think he said Crippen wants you. If I remember right crippen refers to some scary grumpy old dude, probably from a ovie or something.

You are quite right it is Crippen.
This refers to Dr Hawley Harvey Crippen who killed his wife here in Londonin 1910. He was infact the first person (maybe in the uk) to be caught as a direct consequence of a message being sent through Marconi radio(morse code) as he tried to escape on board the SS Montrose with his mistress Ethel le Neve. The reference in this context is to a "nasty person" rather than directly to crippen. When Mr. Mash is showing Mrs. Slocombe the "Pussy Boots" display, the sound keeps going well after Mash turned the thing off and it stopped moving.

Listen closely to Mr. Lucas in "New Look" when he is saying his "I'm not a pheasant plucker I'm a Pheasant Pluckers mate." As he is walking away , he reverses it to say... well you know. I spent an hour on this and I'm convinced that he's saying it !!!

Having duly performed the arduous duty of watching New Look I hearby declare that being of sound mind...Never mind that part. I didn't hear anything other than the pleasant Pheasant Plucker's Mate etc.
Could be the hearing. You know they say the first thing to go is the hearing..I don't remember the second. |

I just watched Cold Comfort Tuesday Aug.12 and indeed saw Mr. Grainger sitting in the Ladies during the opening credits.
Just this evening after watching New Look I watched Christmas Crackers and saw the stagehand in the far background as the curtain was pulled from in front of the Gents revealing the christmas decorations there. |
